A recent find on Dobell’s ranch, the fossilized pine was unearthed in 2020 in Arizona. The ranch has produced some of the world’s finest petrified wood specimens, and this is no exception. Estimated to be 220 million years old, the petrified Araucarioxylon specimen is a physical connection to a prehistoric era.

This Arizonian petrified wood board has been expertly cut and polished to showcase its vibrant fossilized biological detail. It is a visual delight as it contains excellent detail and an excellent array of colors that go beyond the traditional Arizonian reds. Of note is the eye-catching channel of coffee cream that flows across the length of the board like a river, as well as the unique inclusion of a quartz pocket. On top of this, the stone board boasts an artist’s pallet of warm, red hues ranging from deep mahoganies, Shiraz reds, and red-hazel browns.
