– A robust and powerful piece, this petrified wood board has so much to display to its admirers. Both beautiful and functional, it will evoke intrigue from luxury interior designers, through to museum curators.

The wide petrified wood specimen was discovered in 2005 in Dobell Ranch in Arizona. The 220-million-year-old fossilized pine has been expertly cut and polished to reveal its biological patterns, color, and history.

The petrified wood board is generously sized at 25” X 49”. The specimen is wide, allowing for additional functions, such as a coffee table, or hallway bench in a luxurious Arizonian homestead. The robust board could also be positioned outdoors as a feature artwork, or outdoor bench seat. Regardless of its end use, it will create fascination and excitement for all who learn about its history as they touch and feel this bridge to a bygone era.

A true connection to the Triassic period, the petrified wood specimen is a gift from the earth. Through sheer luck, the extinct pine’s biological matter was preserved in mud for millions of years, replacing the organic material with rock-hard minerals. The classic Arizonian red colors (made from iron oxide) are richly diverse and endless in this specimen. Truly vibrant, the Arizonian reds only enhance the coffee crèmes, opal tones, and black charcoal tones that feature within this specimen.
