– Fluid golden veins with warm sienna and silver undertones

Refined and quietly expressive, this circular specimen of petrified Araucarioxylon captures the subtle poetry of geological transformation. Excavated in 2006 from the Paulsell Ranch in Arizona, this 27-by-34-inch round bears witness to 220 million years of natural evolution — from living pine to luminous stone.

Its palette unfolds with remarkable delicacy. Soft sienna tones flow beneath golden mineral veins, while silvery greys introduce contrast and depth. These colors were shaped by mineral-rich waters saturated with silica, iron, and trace elements, which slowly replaced the original wood fibers while preserving their internal structure. The result is a surface alive with movement, warmth, and quiet sophistication.

Delicate radial lines echo the growth of the ancient tree, subtly guiding the eye across the polished face. Crystalline networks shimmer gently, catching the light like fine threads woven into stone. Depending on its surroundings, the piece shifts in mood — glowing warmly under natural daylight, or revealing cooler, more reflective tones in softer evening light.

The circular form enhances its sense of harmony and completeness, making it an exceptionally versatile object. It may be displayed as a wall-mounted focal point, used as a refined tabletop, or placed as an elegant accent within curated interiors. Bridging geology and design, this petrified wood round offers enduring beauty and presence — a timeless expression of nature’s artistry, preserved in stone.
