This round petrified board was unearthed in Arizona, a region globally recognized as producing some of the world’s finest petrified wood specimens. Discovered in Dobell Ranch in 2005, the fossilized Araucarioxylon pine tree was professionally cut to reveal this natural wonder. Through the perfect combination of time and natural events, the once-living giant tree has fossilized its organic matter into mineralized stone.
The round board features an earthy palette dominated by rich, brown tones – from deep chestnut to lighter reddy sandy hues it possesses a warm, natural aesthetic. Strange, almost otherworldly patterns ripple through the wooden round board, giving it its distinctive character. Its irregular shape and intriguing, organic markings shadow its original biological markings; capturing the essence of the tree’s transformation over millions of years.
Polished to a smooth finish, this petrified wood board is both functional and decorative. A generous size of 42 inches by 48 inches, the round board could feature as a striking piece of natural art or a wonderous table top. Regardless of its final use and form, its earthy elegance creates a sense of ancient wonder in any space.
